Nuremberg: In the beginning of May 2005 the is group will celebrate its 15th anniversary. The company was founded by Peter Dinstühler in Nuremberg in 1990 and had six employees in the beginning. Already in 1993 the first affiliate was founded in Hamburg. Since 1999, a continuous internationalization strategy was followed with the foundation of companies in the US, Austria and Germany. As now globally active engineering service provider the company offers the complete engineering process chain for almost all technology areas to its customers.
The year 2004 was marked by the company foundations of the mont-is GmbH Montage Industrieservice and the is@web GmbH Knowledge Management in Germany and by the is global engineering holding GmbH and sport-is AG in Austria, which extend the group’s portfolio beyond the engineering-focused core business. Further stations of the company expansion 2005 will be affiliates in Prague, Dubai and Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. In addition, participations and affiliates in Zurich and Maribor are being implemented. Next to the Arab peninsula, also countries such as Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria and Poland will be a decisive factor in the context of the EU enlargement to the East. The is group employs about 350 engineers and technicians. The expansion target until 2010 is the extension to 15 companies in more than 40 sites - the is group will by then employ more than 1,000 engineers.
